This striking photograph captures the powerful S160 Class locomotive No. 6046, a symbol of American ingenuity and resilience during World War II. Originally built for the US Department of Defense, these "Liberty Engines" were shipped to Europe to support Allied efforts during and after D-Day. No. 6046 never saw the UK during the war; instead, it was directly sent to liberated France and later served across Italy and Hungary. Now privately owned and meticulously restored, this steam giant remains a testament to the enduring legacy of wartime engineering.

The locomotive boasts a boiler pressure of 225 lbf/sq.in. and a tractive effort of 31,490 lbf, making it a formidable presence on the tracks. Its rich history, combined with its technical prowess, makes S160 No. 6046 a living piece of history.

Our canvases are made from a polyester and cotton blend fabric that is both textured and fade-resistant. The canvas is OBA-free and mounted on hand-glued solid wood stretcher bars. This ensures that your artwork is not only vibrant but also durable and long-lasting.
